🔹 Definition (परिभाषा):

A Conjunction is a word used to join words, phrases, clauses, or sentences. Conjunction वह शब्द होता है जो दो या दो से अधिक शब्दों, वाक्यांशों (phrases) या उपवाक्यों (clauses) को आपस में जोड़ता है।

• 🧠 Trick:
• Con = साथ + Junction = मिलाना (जोड़ना) → जोड़ने वाले शब्द
• 📌 Examples:
1. Ram and Shyam are friends.
2. I am tired, but I will work.
3. He ran fast because he was late.

🔹 Kinds of Conjunctions (Conjunctions के प्रकार):

✅ 1. Coordinating Conjunctions (समकोटि संयोजक):
Equal rank वाले words, phrases या clauses को जोड़ते हैं।
Common Words: and, but, or, nor, yet, so, for

Conjunction	Use/Meaning	Hindi Meaning	Example
and	जोड़ने के लिए	और	He sings and dances.
but	विरोध दर्शाने के लिए	लेकिन / परंतु	She is poor but happy.
or	विकल्प दर्शाने के लिए	या	Tea or coffee?
nor	नकारात्मक विकल्प	और नहीं	He neither eats nor drinks.
yet	फिर भी	फिर भी	He is old, yet strong.
so	परिणाम दर्शाने के लिए	इसलिए	He was tired, so he slept.

✅ 2. Subordinating Conjunctions (आधीन संयोजक):
Main clause को dependent clause से जोड़ते हैं।
Common Words: because, although, since, when, if, until, unless, while, before, after, as

because	क्योंकि	I stayed home because it was raining.
although	यद्यपि	Although he is rich, he is humble.
if	यदि	If you study, you will pass.
when	जब	Call me when you arrive.
while	जब तक / जबकि	I listened to music while cooking.
unless	जब तक नहीं	You won’t pass unless you try.
after	के बाद	We went out after lunch.
before	से पहले	Finish it before you leave.

✅ 3. Correlative Conjunctions (युग्म संयोजक):
यह conjunctions जोड़े में प्रयोग होते हैं।
Common Pairs:

either ... or	या तो ... या	Either you work or leave.
neither ... nor	न तो ... न	Neither he nor his brother came.
both ... and	दोनों ... और	Both the teacher and students agreed.
not only ... but also	केवल नहीं ... बल्कि	Not only she sings but also dances.
whether ... or	चाहे ... या	Whether you like it or not, it’s true.

🔹 Position in Sentence (वाक्य में स्थान):

1. Conjunction बीच में होता है:
• I like tea and coffee.
2. Subordinating conjunction वाक्य की शुरुआत में भी हो सकता है:
• If you work hard, you will succeed.
• You will succeed if you work hard.

🔹 Important Notes (महत्वपूर्ण बातें):

• "But" और "Yet" का प्रयोग विरोध दिखाने के लिए होता है।
• "So" और "Therefore" कारण और परिणाम दिखाते हैं।
• "Because" और "Since" कारण बताते हैं।
