🔹 Definition (परिभाषा):

Articles are words used before a noun to show whether it is specific or general. Articles वे शब्द होते हैं जो संज्ञा (Noun) से पहले आते हैं और यह बताते हैं कि वह संज्ञा विशेष (specific) है या सामान्य (general)।

📌 Articles तीन प्रकार के होते हैं:

1. A
2. An
3. The

🔹 Types of Articles (Articles के प्रकार):

✅ 1. Indefinite Articles (अनिश्चयवाचक)

👉 A और An
इनका प्रयोग सामान्य (non-specific) वस्तु या व्यक्ति के लिए होता है।

An	Vowel sounds (स्वर ध्वनि)	एक (any one)

📌 Examples:

• a pen → एक कलम
• an apple → एक सेब
• a teacher → एक शिक्षक
• an honest man → एक ईमानदार आदमी ✅ (क्योंकि 'honest' की आवाज़ 'ऑनिस्ट' होती है, जो vowel sound है)

✅ 2. Definite Article (निश्चितवाचक)

इसका प्रयोग विशिष्ट (specific) व्यक्ति, वस्तु, स्थान या समूह के लिए होता है।

• the sun → सूरज
• the moon → चाँद
• the Taj Mahal → ताजमहल
• the book on the table → मेज़ पर रखी विशेष किताब

🔹 Use of ‘A’ (A का प्रयोग):

A का प्रयोग व्यंजन ध्वनि (consonant sound) से शुरू होने वाले शब्दों से पहले होता है।

✅ Examples:

• a boy
• a car
• a university ✅ ("university" का उच्चारण "you-niversity" होता है – consonant sound)
• ❌ गलत: an university ❌

🔹 Use of ‘An’ (An का प्रयोग):

An का प्रयोग स्वर ध्वनि (vowel sound) से शुरू होने वाले शब्दों से पहले होता है।

✅ Examples:

• an apple
• an umbrella
• an honest man ✅ ("honest" की आवाज़ 'ऑनिस्ट' होती है)
• an hour ✅ ("hour" की आवाज़ 'आवर' होती है)
• ❌ गलत: a apple ❌, a honest man ❌

🔹 Use of ‘The’ (The का प्रयोग):

‘The’ का प्रयोग तब किया जाता है जब हम किसी विशेष या पहले से जानी-पहचानी वस्तु या व्यक्ति की बात करते हैं।

📌 The के उपयोग की प्रमुख स्थितियाँ:

🔹 When not to use Articles (Articles न लगने की स्थिति):

❌ No article is used before:

1. Uncountable nouns in general sense:
• Water is essential.
• Sugar is sweet.
2. Plural nouns when talking generally:
• Dogs are loyal.
• Teachers work hard.
3. Proper nouns:
• India is my country.
• Amit is a good boy.
